The country is witnessing an uncontrolled increase in LPG prices, where the price per kg has reached a record level of Rs 500, causing severe hardship to domestic consumers.
According to reports, citizens say that they are being sold at a price of about Rs 200 more than the official LPG rate, which has further increased the burden of inflation.
Expressing concern over the situation, LPG Distributors Association Chairman Abdul Hadi Khan said that lack of supply in the market and availability of gas at high prices are the main reasons for this increase.
He said that the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority and the relevant importers have failed to control prices, due to which the crisis is becoming more serious.
According to experts, if supply is not improved and effective control over prices is not exercised, this problem may increase further in the coming days.
