YouTube introduces new feature for all creators to detect fake videos made with AI

The problem of deepfake and AI-generated fake videos has become so serious that YouTube has taken it seriously and decided to release a new AI Detection Likeness System for all eligible creators. Earlier, this feature was only running on a trial basis with a few users of the YouTube Partner Program, but now all eligible creators over the age of 18 will be able to use it.
This feature will be available in YouTube Studio. Its job is to scan suspicious AI videos and immediately alert them if a video resembles a creator’s face or identity. The creator can then review the video and request its removal if it is found to violate the Privacy Policy.
This step was also necessary because AI can now imitate a person’s face, voice, and even the way they speak so realistically that it becomes almost impossible for ordinary viewers to distinguish between the real and the fake. In such a situation, a creator’s reputation can be destroyed in a matter of minutes or misinformation can be spread in their name.
YouTube says the feature aims to give creators more control over their identity and protect viewers from fraud.
