Margalla Heavy Industries and Jolta Electric sign agreement to jointly manufacture electric vehicles in Pakistan

The electric vehicle industry in Pakistan is about to get a new momentum. Margalla Heavy Industries and Jolta Electric have signed a joint venture under which both companies will jointly manufacture electric vehicles. The agreement was signed by Jolta Electric Chairman Dr. Muhammad Amjad and Margalla Heavy Industries CEO Ahsan Nadeem.

The scope of this project is quite wide. The electric vehicles to be manufactured will be provided to government institutions, corporate sector and general consumers. In addition, a modern swappable battery ecosystem will also be developed, which will make battery replacement much easier and faster.

Jolta Electric is already working in two and three-wheeler electric vehicles and now this joint venture will also open the door to manufacturing 4-wheeler electric vehicles. This is an important step towards local production of electric vehicles in Pakistan.
