The Federal Board of Revenue has announced the abolition of Saturday and Sunday holidays for the convenience of taxpayers. According to the circular issued by the FBR, all Field Formations will function as usual on May 23 and 24, 2026.
This order is applicable to all Large Taxpayer Offices (LTOs), Medium Taxpayer Offices (MTOs), Corporate Tax Offices (CTOs) and Regional Tax Offices (RTOs). Taxpayers will be able to deposit their dues on these days as well.
This move shows that with the end of the financial year approaching, the FBR is serious about meeting the tax collection targets and is ready to sacrifice even weekends for this purpose.
