India sealed the three-match ODI series in commanding fashion, defeating South Africa by nine wickets in the decisive third match at Visakhapatnam.
Winning a long-awaited toss for the first time in 20 matches, India opted to bowl, restricting South Africa to 270 all out in 47.5 overs. Quinton de Kock led the scoring with a brilliant 106, supported by captain Temba Bavuma with 48. Dewald Brevis scored 29, Matthew Breetzke 24, Marco Jansen 17, while the rest of the lineup struggled to convert starts.
Keegan Petersen remained unbeaten on 20, but the lower order collapsed, with Corbin Bosch (9), Ottniel Baartman (3), Aiden Markram (1), Lungi Ngidi (1), and Ryan Rickelton (0) failing to reach double digits.
For India, Kuldeep Yadav and Prasidh Krishna impressed with four wickets each, while Arshdeep Singh and Ravindra Jadeja picked up a wicket apiece.
In reply, India chased down the 271-run target in the 40th over, losing just one wicket. Yashasvi Jaiswal starred with an unbeaten 116, while Virat Kohli remained not out on 65. Captain Rohit Sharma contributed 75 before being dismissed.
Keshav Maharaj was the only wicket-taker for South Africa, claiming India’s sole dismissal on an otherwise one-sided day that sealed the series for the hosts.
