Neymar returns to Brazil after 3 years, will be part of World Cup 2026

Brazil's new head coach Carlo Ancelotti announced his 26-man squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in Rio de Janeiro and the fans were in a festive mood as soon as Neymar's name was mentioned. Former Brazil star Marcelo was also seen jumping with joy at the good news.

Neymar, 34, is returning to the national team for the first time since 2023. Injuries have troubled him a lot during this period, but Coach Ancelotti said that his fitness and form have been monitored for the past year and he is now in better shape. He is currently representing Brazilian club Santos.

Neymar is the country's top scorer with 79 goals in 128 matches for Brazil. This will be his fourth World Cup, having previously represented Brazil in 2014, 2018 and 2022.

The squad also includes big names like Alisson Becker, Casemiro, Bruno Guimaraes and Vinicius Junior, while Joao Pedro failed to make it into the team.
