48 teams for World Cup 2026 complete, new format and groups revealed

The list of all 48 teams for the FIFA World Cup 2026 has been completed and preparations for the tournament are now in the final stages. In the recent round, Iraq and DR Congo qualified to complete this phase.
The global event will be played in the United States, Canada and Mexico from June 11 to July 19, 2026, in which 48 teams will participate for the first time and 104 matches will be held in 16 different cities.
Under the new format, the teams have been divided into 12 groups:
Group A:
Mexico, South Africa, South Korea, Czech Republic
Group B:
Canada, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Switzerland, Qatar
Group C:
Brazil, Morocco, Scotland, Haiti
Group D:
United States, Paraguay, Australia, Turkey
Group E:
Germany, Ecuador, Ivory Coast, Curacao
Group F:
Netherlands, Japan, Tunisia, Sweden
Group G:
Belgium, Iran, Egypt, New Zealand
Group H:
Spain, Cape Verde, Uruguay, Saudi Arabia
Group I:
France, Senegal, Iraq, Norway
Group J:
Argentina, Algeria, Austria, Jordan
Group K:
Portugal, Colombia, Uzbekistan, DR Congo
Group L:
England, Croatia, Panama, Ghana
It should be noted that four-time world champion Italy could not qualify this time too, which is a big surprise for football fans.
The tournament final will be played on July 19 at MetLife Stadium, where the new world champion will be decided.
