Petrol and diesel cheaper again, new prices effective from May 23

The government has announced further reduction in the prices of petroleum products through a notification issued by the Petroleum Division, which will be effective from May 23.
The new prices are as follows:

• Petrol: Rs 6 down from Rs 409.78 to Rs 403.78 per liter
• High-speed diesel: Rs 6 down from Rs 409.58 to Rs 402.78 per liter

Last week, there was a reduction of Rs 5 per liter and now there has been a further reduction. However, it should be remembered that a few weeks ago, petrol had reached Rs 414.78 and diesel Rs 414.58. Now, despite the reduction in two phases, the prices are still above the previous level and the public has not yet received complete relief.
