Pakistan, Germany sign €40.5 million development deal

A technical cooperation agreement worth 40.5 million euros has been signed between Pakistan and Germany. The agreement was signed by Secretary Economic Affairs Muhammad Hameer Karim on behalf of the Government of Pakistan and Ambassador Anna Lippel on behalf of Germany.
Under this agreement, 9 new development projects will be launched with the support of German development bank KfW, including climate change, social protection and renewable energy sectors. After this agreement, the joint development portfolio of the two countries has reached about 550 million euros.
Muhammad Hameer Karim said that Pakistan and Germany have had a strong and long-lasting partnership since 1961 and this agreement is part of this continuity. German Ambassador Anna Lippel said that Germany attaches great importance to its partnership with Pakistan and will continue to work together to address global challenges such as climate change, energy transition and social vulnerability.
