The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has issued a notification for a 28% hike in LNG prices for May, which will further burden gas consumers.
The new prices are as follows:
- For Sui Southern: New price $16.04 per MMBTU with an increase of $3.51 per MMBTU
- For Sui Northern: New price $16.98 per MMBTU with an increase of $3.43 per MMBTU
According to sources, the May prices were fixed unusually late due to the delay in OGRA’s decision. This hike in LNG prices will directly impact industrial and domestic gas bills as LNG is a major part of Pakistan’s gas supply. At a time when the burden of inflation is already heavy on the people, this hike will create more hardships.
