X limits free users to 50 posts per day, claims to stop bots

Elon Musk’s social media platform X has implemented new posting limits for non-premium users. The biggest change is that the daily posting limit has been reduced from 2,400 to just 50.
The new limits are as follows:
- 50 posts per day
- 200 replies per day
- 500 direct messages per day
Follow 400 accounts per day
In addition, email changes will only be allowed four times per hour.
X says these restrictions are in place to prevent spammers and automated bot networks. According to the company, about 80 percent of users only view content and do not post much themselves, so the impact on ordinary users will be limited.
But for power users like journalists, influencers and brand managers, this change could be very difficult because they post and reply in large numbers throughout the day. For such users, taking out a Premium Subscription will now become practically mandatory, which may push many people towards other platforms than X.
