Neuralink Testers Successfully Control Robotic Arms Using Their Minds

Early testers involved in Elon Musk’s Neuralink brain-chip experiment have successfully used robotic arms powered only by their thoughts.

A video posted on social media platform X shows Rocky Stoutenburgh, who has been paralyzed from below the neck since a 2006 accident, demonstrating how he can move a robotic arm simply using his brain signals.

Before this breakthrough, Stoutenburgh relied on assistive technologies, including a mouth-operated controller, which allowed him to play video games and perform small tasks.

Another participant in the trial showcased the ability to use thought-control to operate a robotic arm to pick up a cup and drink from it.

Neuralink stated in a social media post that clinical trial participants have expanded their ability from digital computer control to manipulating physical devices such as robotic arms.

The company further added that it plans to develop and connect multiple devices in the future that will be controlled through the Neuralink interface.
