A firing incident took place outside the residence of renowned Bollywood film director Rohit Shetty, triggering fear and panic in the surrounding area.
According to Indian media reports, unidentified assailants opened multiple rounds of fire late Saturday night outside Rohit Shetty’s home in Mumbai’s Juhu area. Fortunately, no casualties were reported in the incident.
Mumbai Police stated that Rohit Shetty was present inside his house at the time of the firing. Soon after the incident, a heavy police contingent reached the spot, cordoned off the area, collected evidence, and further tightened security arrangements.
Meanwhile, the Lawrence Bishnoi gang has claimed responsibility for the attack. In a statement circulating on social media, gang members alleged that the firing was carried out by them and issued serious threats to the filmmaker.
Mumbai Police and the Crime Branch have jointly launched an investigation into the incident. CCTV footage from the area is being reviewed to identify the attackers. Police officials said investigations are underway from all angles and those responsible will be brought to justice soon.
It is worth noting that Bollywood personalities have recently faced increasing threats and security concerns, once again raising serious questions about the safety of film industry figures.
Last year, a similar firing incident occurred outside actor Salman Khan’s Galaxy Apartments residence in Bandra, in which the Lawrence Bishnoi gang was also named. The same gang has now claimed responsibility for the firing outside Rohit Shetty’s house.
