The Don 3 controversy in Bollywood has now turned into a major industrial crisis. The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has banned Ranveer Singh from working in the film industry. The federation says that no production house will work with Ranveer until he resolves the alleged loss of Rs 45 crore with director Farhan Akhtar.
The dispute began when Farhan Akhtar’s company Excel Entertainment alleged that Ranveer walked out of Don 3 at the last minute after signing a three-film deal, resulting in a huge loss of pre-production expenses. The federation’s mediation efforts failed as Ranveer maintained that the matter should be resolved in a proper legal forum.
Ranveer Singh’s spokesperson said that he deliberately kept quiet on the matter as he believes in resolving professional matters with dignity and is focused on his upcoming projects.
FWICE says that despite several notices, there was no cooperation, after which a Non-Cooperation Directive had to be issued. The Federation’s Chief Advisor Ashok Pandit said that the film industry is like a joint family and strict action will be taken on such cases in future.
It should be remembered that Shah Rukh Khan has previously played the lead role in the Don franchise and in 2023, Ranveer Singh was signed for Don 3.
