CM Maryam Nawaz's strong stand in Momina Iqbal case, legal action against MPA underway

The allegations of Pakistani actress Momina Iqbal against PML-N MPA Muhammad Saqib Chaudhry have now reached the political level. Taking a strong stand on the issue, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz clarified that harassing, threatening or blackmailing any woman through personal content is intolerable and the law is equal for all, regardless of their political party or position.

Investigation has revealed that Momina Iqbal and Saqib Chaudhry were in a long-term relationship in the past but separated about eight months ago. After this, the actress got engaged and their wedding is expected on June 1. It is alleged that the harassment and threats started after the relationship ended and the marriage was fixed.

After Momina Iqbal’s formal complaint, the NCCIA and other agencies have been mobilized and the investigation is underway. This statement of CM Maryam Nawaz is also important because the accused is a member of her own party and yet she clarified that no one is above the law.
