The ongoing auto show in China’s capital Beijing is all about affordable electric vehicles and fierce price competition is being seen among companies. There are currently more than 200 electric vehicle models in China that are priced below $25,000, or about 7 million Pakistani rupees, while many vehicles are available for less than $12,000, or 3.6 million rupees.
Among the vehicles that have attracted the most attention is the Geely EX2, which has a starting price of about $10,060. This vehicle has a 14.6-inch touchscreen and a range of about 255 miles on a single charge. Economist Felipe Munoz said that at this price, the quality and interior space of the vehicle are better than expected and it does not feel small in size.
The Wuling Bingo Pro also stands out among affordable electric vehicles, which is available for a price of about $8,000 and can travel about 250 miles on a single charge. Chinese company BYD's Seagull is also in the competition, priced at around $10,200, and the new model also includes advanced features such as automatic lane changing and fast charging.
