AI bot attacks increase tenfold in a year, 25 million attacks are occurring daily

Cybersecurity company Thales’ 2026 ‘Bad Bot Report’ has revealed that cyber attacks on the internet by AI bots have increased more than tenfold in the past year. Daily AI-powered bot attacks have increased from 2 million to 25 million in just one year, which is a very worrying situation.
According to the report, the biggest change in 2025 was that AI and automation have now become a regular part of the internet infrastructure, due to which it has become more difficult than ever to stop these attacks. These attacks are not limited to any one sector or country, but all industries around the world, including retail, business, education and government sectors, have come under this threat. That is, no sector can now consider itself completely safe.
According to experts, the increasing capabilities of AI have made it very easy for cyber criminals to carry out large-scale automated attacks and this threat is expected to increase further in the coming years.
