Vehicle Ownership Transfer Possible Online and with Biometric Verification Through PakID app

The Government of Pakistan has launched the Pak ID app to make the process of buying, selling and transferring ownership of vehicles easier and more transparent. The aim of this initiative is to provide citizens with a secure, digital and fast facility so that the process of vehicle transactions can be completed without any complications.

The app, developed by the National Database and Registration Authority, allows users to complete the transfer of ownership online through the vehicle registration or chassis number. The inclusion of biometric authentication is expected to significantly reduce fraud and paperwork.

Earlier, overseas Pakistanis required a power of attorney certified by embassies to transfer a vehicle, but now the same process can be done at home through biometric authentication, which will reduce both time and costs.

According to officials, the app will allow the transfer only to the original and authentic owner, which will help prevent fake documents and illegal sales. At the inauguration ceremony, excise officials and NADRA representatives said that this step is a significant step towards modernizing citizen services through technology and making public facilities more efficient.

He said that this initiative will play a significant role in promoting e-governance and digital public services in Pakistan and will make the vehicle transaction process fast, transparent and easy, especially for Pakistanis living abroad.
