One person dies after car plows into spectators during rally race in Argentina

A tragic accident occurred during the second stage of the 'Rally Sudamericano Mina Clavero' in Argentina, killing one spectator and injuring two others.

According to video footage, the racing car hit a bank, went out of control and overturned into the crowd of spectators. Driver Didier Arias and co-driver Hector Nunez were fortunately unharmed in the accident.

The FIA expressed its deep sorrow over the tragedy and said it would fully cooperate with the organizers and local authorities.

The incident is all the more painful because just a day earlier, the world of motorsport was shocked when Juha Matiinen lost his life during the 'ADAC 24H Nurburgring' qualifiers.
