Instagram's new AI feature, Stories will now provide a video-like experience

Instagram is developing a new AI tool that could significantly change the Stories experience. The feature will create smooth transitions between images, making even simple slideshows feel like videos.

The feature, dubbed “A Transition,” was first previewed by reverse engineer Alessandro Paluzzi and later confirmed by various sources.

Until now, when users upload multiple images to Stories, they appear one after the other in a simple way, but with this new feature, AI will automatically fill in the gaps between images, making the visual flow smoother.

The tool will work alongside the existing “Separate” mode, which adds AI-based effects between each image to make the entire story look like one continuous video.

This update is part of Meta's larger strategy to rapidly expand the use of artificial intelligence across its platforms, to provide users with a more modern and interactive experience.
