Mushfiqur Rahim breaks Imran Khan's record, becomes second Asian to have longest Test career

Bangladesh batsman Mushfiqur Rahim has reached a historic milestone while playing a Test match against Pakistan. By completing a Test career of 20 years and 351 days, he has become the second Asian player to have the longest Test career, surpassing former Pakistan captain Imran Khan, whose career spanned 20 years and 218 days. Imran Khan has now moved up to third place in the list.

The list is still topped by India's Sachin Tendulkar, whose Test career lasted 24 years and one day, a record that Mushfiqur will not be able to break.

Mushfiqur Rahim's achievement is also special because he is the only player to have played 100 Test matches for Bangladesh. For a country that entered Test cricket relatively late, Mushfiqur's journey also reflects the maturity of Bangladeshi cricket.
