Agreements worth millions of dollars were signed at the Pak-China Business Conference

The Pak-China Business to Business Conference held in Islamabad gave a new direction to the trade relations between the two countries. The conference was attended by 105 representatives of 74 Chinese companies and 242 representatives of 136 Pakistani companies. Several MoUs and trade agreements were signed in the presence of Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Haroon Akhtar Khan.
The details of the sector-wise agreements are as follows:
- Home appliances: 15 MoUs, largest investment $40 million
- Electrical sector: 10 agreements, largest agreement $60 million
- Battery storage: 27 agreements and MoUs, largest investment $82 million
Negotiations are underway on another 40 MoUs, which are expected to be finalized soon.
Haroon Akhtar Khan said on the occasion that Pak-China economic cooperation is an important source of development for both countries and these agreements have opened new avenues for joint investment in various sectors. He said that the government is taking all possible steps to promote industrial development and exports.
