Kerosene and light diesel are cheaper, but jet fuel will become more expensive, making air travel more expensive

The government has made mixed changes in the prices of petroleum products. On the one hand, kerosene and light diesel have been reduced, while on the other hand, jet fuel has been made quite expensive.
The new prices are as follows:
- Kerose oil: Rs 41.80 reduction, new price Rs 318.96 per liter
- Light diesel: Rs 21.7 reduction, from Rs 287.54 to Rs 265.84 per liter
- Jet fuel: Rs 53.11 increase, from Rs 388.55 to Rs 441.66 per liter
This big increase in the price of jet fuel will directly affect air travel as airlines usually pass on the burden of rising fuel costs to passengers through ticket prices.
This announcement comes at a time when the government has already increased the price of petrol by Rs 14.92 per litre and high-speed diesel by Rs 15 per litre last night. The reduction in kerosene and light diesel does not make much difference to the common man as these products are very rare in daily use, while the continuously increasing prices of petrol and diesel have become another hardship for the people who are being crushed in the mill of inflation.
