Bangladesh announces squad for Test series against Pakistan

The Bangladesh Cricket Board has announced a 15-member squad for the first Test match against Pakistan. The match will begin at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka from May 8, while the second Test of the series will be played in Sylhet from May 16 to 20.

The team will be led by Najmul Hasan Shanto and Mehidy Hasan Miraz will take on the role of vice-captain. The squad includes experienced batsmen like Mushfiqur Rahim, Liton Das, Mominul Haque and Shadman Islam, while fast bowlers Taskin Ahmed and Shoriful Islam have also returned to the team.

Two new faces have also been included in the squad who will be playing Test cricket for the first time. Tanzid Hasan has already proven his worth in limited-overs cricket, while Amit Hasan has managed to make it to the team based on his impressive average in first-class cricket.

Bangladesh are currently ranked eighth in the World Test Championship rankings and will look to improve their position with a good performance in this series against Pakistan.
