US denies visas to 15 members of Iranian delegation

The US has decided not to issue visas to 15 members of the Iranian delegation ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, causing problems for the Iranian administration.

According to the AFP news agency, Iranian state television reported that the visas of the national football team players and coaching staff have been issued, but the visas of 15 members of the delegation’s administrative and management staff have not yet been issued.

It was reported from the Iranian team’s training camp in the Turkish city of Antalya that the documents of the players and technical staff are complete, but the issue of the administrative members’ visas has not yet been resolved.

This development comes as the Iranian national team is busy preparing for the World Cup. All of Iran’s group stage matches are scheduled in the US, while the team’s base camp is set up in Mexico.

So far, no official statement has been made by US authorities about the reasons for the delay or denial of visas.
