Iranian football team denied permission to stay in the US

Iran's national football team, which will participate in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, could not get permission to stay in the United States.

According to foreign news agencies, the Iranian team will fly from Mexico to the United States on the day of the match and return to Mexico immediately after the match ends.

Iran has set up its training base camp in the Mexican city of Tijuana, where the team has arrived.

All of Iran's group stage matches will be played in the United States (Los Angeles and Seattle). The flight from Tijuana to Los Angeles will take about 45 minutes to an hour, while the flight to Seattle will take five and a half hours.

Iran will play its first match against New Zealand on June 15.

It should be noted that visas were issued to Iranian players and coaching staff, however, several key administrative officials, including the President of the Iranian Football Federation, Mehdi Taj, have not yet been able to get US visas, due to which the team is facing administrative challenges.
