Renowned Scottish rugby player Scott Hastings has died at the age of 61 after a long battle with cancer. His son Corey and daughter Carrie Anne confirmed the sad news in an official statement on Sunday.
Scott Hastings was diagnosed with incurable Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma cancer in 2022, after which he had been undergoing treatment but finally defeated the disease.
Scott Hastings’ name will always be remembered in the world of rugby. He was part of the historic Scotland team that won the Grand Slam in the 1990 Five Nations, a memorable moment for Scotland. He played 65 matches for his country and was also involved in two tours of the British and Irish Lions.
