Mohammad Abbas completes 1000 wickets in professional cricket

On the first day of the Sylhet Test, Pakistan’s experienced fast bowler Mohammad Abbas completed the 1000th wicket of his professional cricket career. This wicket became a double honour as it was also his 100th overseas wicket.

Looking at his career figures, 884 wickets in First Class cricket, 84 in List A and 32 in T20 cricket make up this 1000-wicket milestone.

Earlier, in the Dhaka Test, Mohammad Abbas had achieved another feat by taking 6 wickets when he surpassed Pakistani legends Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis in terms of the best Test bowling average. This means that this tour of Bangladesh has been no less than a big reward for Mohammad Abbas.
