The State Bank of Pakistan has confirmed that Pakistan has received $1 billion as the second installment of the $3 billion deposit from Saudi Arabia.
Earlier, $2 billion was received as the first installment on April 15, after which the total amount of Saudi financial assistance has been completed.
According to the central bank, these funds will play an important role in stabilizing Pakistan’s foreign exchange reserves, while the Saudi government has already assured financing of $3 billion.
Later, an agreement was also reached between the Saudi Fund for Development and the State Bank of Pakistan, under which the $3 billion Saudi deposit with the State Bank was rolled over.
The agreement was signed during a ceremony held in Washington, D.C., which was attended by Federal Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb and other senior officials.
This development came on the sidelines of the Spring Meetings of the International Monetary Fund 2026, which is being described as a positive signal for Pakistan's economy.Humanize 168 words
