The next budget will be presented in June, with proposals for relief for the salaried class and increase in BISP stipend.

The federal government has decided to prepare the budget for the financial year 2026-27 in accordance with the IMF conditions, which will be presented in the National Assembly in the first week of June.
It is proposed to provide relief to the salaried class in this budget and the super tax will be gradually reduced in consultation with the IMF. Along with this, the quarterly stipend of BISP beneficiaries will be increased by Rs 5,000 and this amount will increase from Rs 14,500 to Rs 19,500.
In terms of taxes, a proposal to abolish income tax and sales tax exemptions received by various sectors is under consideration. Tax incentives already received by Special Economic Zones will also be withdrawn and the ban on creating new economic zones will remain in place for the time being. Products manufactured in export zones will not be allowed to be sold in the local market to prevent tax evasion.
In the energy sector, regular and timely increases in electricity and gas prices will be made mandatory and the IMF has also stressed on further tightening tariff adjustments. The FBR's audit system will be strengthened and centralized, foreign exchange restrictions will be relaxed in a phased manner, and the Pakistan Regulatory Registry will be established by 2027.
