Pakistan played its 1,000th ODI match, Australia gave it a commemorative gift

Pakistan has crossed a major milestone in One Day International cricket. The Green Shirts have become the third team in the world to play 1,000 One Day Internationals.

On this historic occasion, Australian captain Josh Inglis presented a commemorative gift to Pakistani captain Shaheen Shah Afridi. Shaheen Shah Afridi termed it a great honour for Pakistan cricket and said that this is a special day.

The match against Australia played at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium was Pakistan’s 1,000th ODI. Pakistan played its first ODI against New Zealand in 1973. In the 999 matches played so far, Pakistan has achieved 527 wins, 442 losses, 9 ties and 21 no-result matches.

Pakistan has now become the third team in the world to play 1,000 ODI matches. India is first with 1,075 matches and Australia is second with 1,019 matches.

During this time, the national team achieved significant successes on the global stage by winning the 1992 World Cup and the 2017 Champions Trophy.
