According to a notification issued in Islamabad, the effects of the increase in oil prices in the global market are also being seen at the local level, under which the price of kerosene has been increased by another Rs 4.66 per liter.
After the new price, kerosene has reached Rs 433.40 per liter, and it has been implemented immediately. It should be remembered that last week too, the price of kerosene was increased by a big amount of Rs 70.73 per liter.
On the other hand, there has been no change in the prices of petrol and diesel. The price of petrol remains at Rs 321.17 per liter while diesel remains at Rs 335.86 per liter.
According to the notification, the government will pay PDC (Price Differential Claim) of Rs 95.59 per liter on petrol and Rs 203.88 per liter on diesel to oil marketing companies.
This situation shows that fluctuations in global prices are having a direct impact on fuel prices in Pakistan, while the government appears unable to provide full relief due to limited capacity.
