Successful berthing of large cargo ship at Gwadar Port

Special vessel MVHMO Leader successfully berthed at Gwadar Port, where 35 units of transshipment cargo were handled.
Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Muhammad Junaid Anwar Chaudhry said on the occasion that Gwadar Port is emerging as a safe shipping hub during regional tensions, and global shipping lines are turning to it as an alternative.
According to him, traditional shipping routes have been affected due to tensions in the region, which has significantly increased the importance of Gwadar. Free storage facilities are also being provided for transshipment cargo, which is making the port more competitive.
The Minister said that Gwadar Port and Free Zone have the capacity to handle 16,000 TEUs of containers, while more than 90,000 square meters of storage space is available for general cargo.
He expressed his determination that Gwadar Port will play a key role in the blue economy and regional trade in the future.
