Petrol and diesel prices to increase again from May 9, further burden on the public

The people worried about inflation in Pakistan have received another shock. The government has announced an increase in the prices of petroleum products from May 9 by issuing a notification through the Petroleum Division.
The new prices are as follows:

Petrol: Rs 14.92 increase from Rs 399.86 to Rs 414.78 per liter

High-speed diesel: Rs 15 increase from Rs 399.58 to Rs 414.58 per liter

This increase is also shocking because it is the second major increase in a very short period of time. On April 29 alone, the government had increased the price of high-speed diesel by Rs 19.39 and petrol by Rs 6.51. Now, not even ten days have passed that another increase has been made.
The effects of the increase in the prices of petroleum products are not limited to petrol pumps, but also increase the prices of transport and essential goods, the burden of which is borne by the common man.
