Shahid Afridi was awarded Hilal-e-Imtiaz, Shehroze Kashif's mother received the award

At the annual awards ceremony held at the Presidential Palace, President Asif Ali Zardari presented awards to distinguished personalities in various fields. Former captain Shahid Khan Afridi, who made Pakistan famous in the cricket field, was awarded the Hilal-e-Imtiaz for his services in the field of sports.

An emotional moment came at the ceremony when young mountaineer Shehroze Kashif’s Hilal-e-Imtiaz was received by his mother.

Various awards including Nishan-e-Imtiaz, Hilal-e-Imtiaz and Shujaat-e-Imtiaz were distributed to personalities from different fields at the ceremony.
