Tesla recalls thousands of Cybertruck vehicles, risk of wheel loss

Elon Musk’s Tesla has recalled all rear-wheel drive Cybertrucks sold in the past two years due to a serious safety flaw. The US agency NHTSA has warned that the wheel stud holes in these vehicles are so fragile that they can crack under the impact of bumps in rough roads and the pressure of sharp turns.
According to NHTSA, if these cracks continue to grow, the wheel stud can completely separate from the wheel hub and if the wheel comes off while the vehicle is moving, the driver may lose control of the vehicle, which increases the risk of an accident many times over. This is a very serious situation because a wheel comes off while the vehicle is moving can be fatal.
Tesla will have to replace the hub, lug nuts and front and rear brake rotors in all affected vehicles free of charge and will not charge vehicle owners for this repair. The Cybertruck has already been criticized for several technical problems and this new recall is another major setback for the company.
