Meta Preparing for Major Layoffs, Thousands of Employees Likely to be Affected

Technology company Meta Platforms is reportedly preparing to lay off thousands of its employees.

According to a report by the news agency Reuters, the company is considering laying off about 20% of its employees, which number about 16 thousand.

If the plan is implemented as it is, it will be Meta's largest layoff since 2022. Previously, the company had laid off about 11 thousand employees during Meta layoffs 2022, while another 10 thousand people were laid off the following year.

Two senior employees familiar with the matter told Business Insider that the process of layoffs could begin within the next month.

According to reports, the company is considering this major decision to reduce costs and restructure its business structure.
