India refuses to play all bilateral sports series with Pakistan

Amidst the Indo-Pak tensions, the Indian government has officially refused to play a bilateral sports series with Pakistan. The Indian Sports Ministry has issued clear instructions to all sports organizations, Olympic Associations and sports authorities that neither India will host any bilateral series with Pakistan on its soil nor will Indian teams be sent to Pakistan.

However, India has shown flexibility in the matter of multi-country competitions. The decision to participate in such international events where Pakistan is also participating will be taken keeping in mind the policy of international sports bodies and the interests of the players. This means that Indian players can play matches with Pakistan in tournaments like the World Cup or Asia Cup. Similarly, if India hosts an international event, Pakistani teams will also be allowed to participate as this is required by international sports principles. This decision could have far-reaching implications on the sports relations between the two countries.
