Immediately verify SIMs registered in your name, PTA instructs

The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority has warned citizens to check how many mobile SIMs are registered on their National Identity Card (NIC), as many people are unaware of this important information.
According to the agency, a SIM is actually linked to a person’s digital identity. If a fake or stolen SIM is being used in someone’s name, it can be used to access personal information, bank accounts and messaging apps, which can lead to serious harm.
The PTA has instructed citizens to immediately check how many SIMs are registered in their name by sending their NIC number without the dash to 668. If any irrelevant number appears in the list, the relevant mobile company should immediately block it.
