The International Cricket Council (ICC) has approved major changes to the laws of cricket.
Major decisions were made in the ICC Board meeting held in India regarding the laws of cricket, women's cricket and Cricket Canada.
According to the new rules, the pink ball can be used in Test matches with the mutual consent of both teams. Umpires have also been given access to Hawkeye data during the review of suspicious bowling actions.
The meeting also decided to implement the league sidewide trial law permanently.
The Women's Champions Trophy 2027 has now been decided to be held from February 14 to 28 instead of June and July.
The ICC has suspended Cricket Canada's membership over irregularities, however, Canadian national teams will be able to participate in ICC events even during the suspension.
The meeting expressed concern over the rapid spread of franchise cricket. Two representatives from the ICC Board will also visit Bangladesh where they will interact with stakeholders on various issues, including the BCB's selection process.
