YouTube announces clear labeling of AI-generated videos

YouTube has announced that it is becoming more transparent about identifying content created or modified by artificial intelligence.
Starting last week, all videos uploaded to YouTube that are significantly created or modified by AI will be clearly labeled as AI.
In longer videos, this label will appear below the video player and above the description, while in YouTube Shorts it will be displayed as an overlay directly on the video.
YouTube still expects creators to tag their AI-generated videos themselves. However, the company has also introduced an advanced Content Detection System that will automatically identify AI-generated content.
If a video is mistakenly declared AI-generated, creators can go to YouTube Studio and correct its information.
YouTube says that this new AI label will not affect video recommendations or monetization. Its sole purpose is to clearly tell viewers which content was created or modified with the help of artificial intelligence.
