Babar Azam breaks Zaheer Abbas' record

Playing a responsible innings of 69 runs in the first ODI match against Australia, Babar Azam equaled Zaheer Abbas's decades-old record. This was his 38th half-century of his ODI career.

With this innings, his number of half-centuries against Australia in all formats has reached 18. Thus, he broke Zaheer Abbas's record of 17 fifty-plus scores.

Javed Miandad tops the list of most fifty-plus scores against Australia among Pakistani batsmen, who has achieved this feat 20 times.

Babar Azam has scored 755 runs in 14 matches against Australia so far at an impressive average of 68.63. He needs two more fifty-plus innings to equal Javed Miandad's record and three fifty-plus innings to break it.
