The first fully electric car from the global luxury car manufacturer Ferrari, the ‘Luce’, has been heavily criticized since its launch.
Designed under the creative vision of renowned designer Sir Jony Ive, the car is named ‘Luce’ in Italian, which means ‘light’. However, the design and overall appearance of the car did not meet the expectations of customers and critics.
This is the first five-seater electric car in Ferrari’s history. According to the company, it can accelerate from zero to 96 km/h in just two and a half seconds. Its price has been set at $640,000 (approximately 180 million Pakistani rupees).
The launch ceremony was attended by important figures including the President of Italy and Pope Leo, but the market reaction was negative. Ferrari’s share price fell 8% just a day after the launch.
Critics, investors and social media users have raised serious questions about the design of the car. Experts say that Ferrari's step into the growing electric vehicle market is certainly historic, but the company will have to work harder to convince traditional Ferrari fans.
