Chinese Company Deepseek's new AI model to be Introduced Soon

Chinese AI company DeepSeek is set to unveil its new flagship model, DeepSeek V4, this week after a hiatus of more than a year, which is being seen as a major breakthrough compared to American AI systems.
The company’s first large language model was unveiled in January 2025 and quickly topped the app charts in the US. At the time, US President Donald Trump called it a “wake-up call” for the tech world.
The new V4 model will reportedly be multimodal, meaning it will be able to process not just text but also images and videos. With this feature, it is being seen as a strong competitor to American AI models such as ChatGPT and Gemini.
The Hangzhou-based startup is reported to have shared its new technology with local suppliers, including Huawei, rather than American chip companies such as Nvidia.
