5G officially launched in Pakistan, licenses issued to Zong, Jazz and Ufone

Pakistan Telecommunication Authority has issued official licenses to Zong, Jazz and Ufone, taking a major step towards the launch of 5G services in the country.
After the issuance of licenses, the three companies will launch 5G services in a phased manner, providing users with high-speed internet and modern digital facilities. Initially, this service will be available in selected areas of major cities such as Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad, Quetta and Peshawar.
Addressing the ceremony, Shehbaz Sharif said that the promotion of 5G technology will prove to be a major milestone in the sectors of industry, agriculture and IT, and its auction was completed in a transparent manner.
According to Federal Minister for IT Shaza Fatima Khawaja, 5G service has been introduced for the first time in Pakistan and the quality of internet will improve significantly in the coming months.
Chairman PTA Hafeez ur Rehman said that after the auction of 480 MHz spectrum, Pakistan has achieved a prominent position in the region in terms of spectrum availability.
According to the PTA, Zong and Jazz have prepared to launch the service immediately, while Ufone will introduce 5G in a few days.
According to experts, the launch of 5G will not only increase internet speed but will also give a big boost to e-commerce, digital services and the online economy.
