WhatsApp introduces new home screen widget for voice messages on Android

Instant messaging app WhatsApp has started rolling out a new home screen widget for Android users, which will allow users to record and send voice messages directly without opening a specific chat.
The feature is currently available to some beta testers using WhatsApp beta version 2.26.30.2 for Android.
According to WhatsApp Beta Info, the new widget provides a shortcut on the Android home screen. Tapping on the widget opens a separate recording interface, where the user can record, pause, resume, discard or confirm the voice note.
After the recording is complete, WhatsApp opens a contact selection screen where the user can select one or more people. In this way, it will be possible to send the same voice message to multiple contacts at once, without forwarding it separately.
The aim of this new feature is to make the process of sending voice messages faster, easier and more convenient.
However, this feature is currently available to a limited number of beta users and is likely to be introduced to more users in future updates.
