Chacha Cricket announces retirement

The most famous and passionate supporter of the Pakistan cricket team, ‘Chacha Cricket’, has announced his retirement.

Abdul Jalil, 77, will watch the third ODI between Pakistan and Australia in Lahore next week for the last time in his country while sitting in the stadium.

Chacha Cricket first watched a Test match against England in Lahore in 1968-69. Later, he became a regular supporter of the Pakistan team at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium. The green dress and cap became his trademark. He gained international fame due to his strong support for Pakistan in England during the 1999 World Cup.

Abdul Jalil said that he now wants to set up a restaurant and museum near Sialkot where he will keep all his cricket-related memorabilia. He says that he has achieved the goal of encouraging the team in 500 matches of Pakistan.

Chacha Cricket witnessed many of Pakistan's historic victories with his own eyes, including Javed Miandad's last-ball six in 1986 and the 2017 Champions Trophy final.

He has been disappointed with the national team's performance in recent years, but still hopes that the Pakistan team will soon resume its winning streak.
