Apple warns of memory chip shortages, could make it difficult to meet growing demand for iPhones

Technology company Apple has warned that a global shortage of memory chips used for artificial intelligence (AI) is forcing the company to build up additional stock and make rapid arrangements to meet the growing demand for iPhones.

According to the company’s latest financial results, Apple recorded its best comparable quarterly performance in its history. During this period, iPhone sales increased by 22% while Mac computer sales increased by 29%, which was better than expectations.

However, the global shortage of memory chips, which some experts are also calling RAMageddon, has become a major challenge for the electronics industry. Due to the growing demand for AI systems, other device manufacturers are facing difficulties in supplying chips, which has also led to increased prices for many products.

Apple had increased the prices of several of its products by 20% or more last month, although iPhone prices have not been changed for now. Analysts believe the company could raise prices with the launch of new iPhone models expected in September. Apple Chief Executive Tim Cook has also warned that if the shortage of memory chips persists, the company may find it difficult to produce iPhones to meet growing demand.
