6% reduction in goods transport fares announced

Pakistan Goods Transport Alliance President Malik Shahzad Awan has welcomed the federal government’s decision to reduce diesel and petrol prices and announced a 6 percent reduction in goods transport fares.

Malik Shahzad Awan said that he thanked the Prime Minister for deciding to reduce the prices of petroleum products. He expressed hope that further reductions would be made in the future.

He said that the reduction in the prices of petroleum products provides relief not only to transporters but also to ordinary Pakistanis. Due to the war situation, import and export in the country has almost stopped, due to which business has been greatly affected.

Malik Shahzad Awan said that due to the recent situation, many transporters have parked thousands of vehicles. He said that more relief is expected from the government in the current situation.

He demanded that the federal government provide relief in withholding tax, toll tax and illegal challans of the motorway police and traffic police. He said that the government should also provide us with as many facilities as we pay in taxes.

Malik Shahzad Awan also said that a reduction in the prices of everyday items for the people will be possible only when the prices of petroleum products are low and remain stable.
