Thousands of job vacancies available abroad; Pakistani citizens can also verify them online

For Pakistani citizens seeking employment abroad, the Bureau of Emigration & Overseas Employment’s foreign jobs portal provides details on thousands of job vacancies. Through this official platform, individuals can not only search for jobs but also verify the legitimacy of vacancies offered by recruiting agencies.

A formal authorization system is in place for overseas recruitment. The Protector of Emigrants grants permission to a licensed recruiting agency to conduct recruitment for a specified period, following a review of verified documents provided by the respective foreign employer or organization.

How can a job offer be verified?

Under the Emigration Rules of 1979, recruitment-related documents must be verified by designated authorities, which include the embassy of the relevant country in Pakistan, the Pakistani embassy in the foreign country, or the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the respective country.

Every recruitment authorization carries a unique number, which must be included in the relevant job advertisement. Citizens can use this number to check job details and the status of the authorization on the official portal.

Once an authorization is issued, the corresponding vacancies are automatically posted on the Bureau of Emigration & Overseas Employment’s website under a "permission tracking number." These vacancies are automatically removed from the portal once the recruitment process is complete or the authorization period expires.

Important Guidelines to Avoid Fraudulent Job Offers

Individuals contacting a recruiting agency for overseas employment should verify the job advertisement and its official authorization on the government portal before making any payments or proceeding with the recruitment process. This step can help reduce the risk of encountering unverified or fraudulent job offers.

According to official procedures, the relevant recruiting agency bears responsibility for the employment of individuals hired for these positions. Should a candidate encounter any complaints or issues, they may contact the Bureau of Emigration & Overseas Employment or the relevant Protector of Emigrants.

To view details regarding available overseas job opportunities and to verify them, one may visit the 'Foreign Jobs' portal of the Bureau of Emigration & Overseas Employment.
